AN EVENING AT THE CINEMA
1. Introduction. 2. Arrival at the cinema house. 3. The scene in the cinema house. 4. The film. 5. Conclusion.
1. I am not very fond of visiting the cinema. I seldom() go to the pictures. Last week I saw a good film at a local cinema house. When my annual examination came to an end, I decided to visit the cinema with a friend of mine. I was told by some of my friends that a good film was running at Elphinstone. So, I wanted to see it.
2. One evening I went to the cinema house with a friend. We people were standing in a queue (). At first I lost hope, but my friend stood in the queue. After some time he brought tickets.
3. We entered the cinema house. It was already crowded. People were trying to find their seats. The hawkers () were making a lot of noise. We found our seats and sat down. In a short time the hall was full. There were men, women, and children in the hall. Most of the people were talking loudly. Some children were crying and their parents were trying to pacify (a) them. When the first bell rang, all the lights went off. There was complete darkness in the hall. The noise ceased and people looked at the screen. At first some news reels were shown. Then we saw some advertisements (fa). We were eager (3) for the film.
4. When the second bell rang, the film started. I had heard much about the film. Nanha Farishta. It was very interesting (h) from the very beginning. In the beginning we saw three dacoits (3) committing robbery (3). They killed a rich man and looted all his money. When they saw the rich man's little daughter, their hearts were softened. They could not kill the lovely girl. They took her away. It was a tough (a) job to look after her but they took great pains to please her. Gradually the little girl brought about a change in their conduct. She made them realize that they must give up their evil way of life. At last they gave up robbery and became good citizens. Thus, the story of the film was very interesting (HR). It was full of pathos (). The influence () of the little girl on the cruel robbers was very great. The film was also educative (fe). It taught us that the criminals could be reformed through love. The film was also remarkable for its sweet music.
5. When the film came to an end. I felt that I had been in another world for a while. I left the cinema house with my friend. I liked the film for its interesting story and sweet music.
